Order of the Arrow
Purpose
The National Order of the Arrow Committee believes it has a responsibility in preserving and sharing our organizations history, as such has created the National Digital Archive. This archive is the responsibly of the National Subcommittee for History and Preservation who is also responsible for physical archive of the National Committee.
The purpose of this site will be to share items from the National Committee must have important significance to the National Organization and its programs. This digital archive will allow Arrowmen and interested non-Arrowmen to learn about the history of the Order. With this resource, the National Committee wants to create a wealth of pictures, quotes, and memories that will generate a wealth of tools it member lodges to use in publications and at events to tell the history of the organization.
Priority of Assets
The priority for the digital archive is a follows:
1) Item's and information as it relates to the Founder's E. Urner Goodman and Carroll Edson (Pictures, correspondence, memorabilia, video and audio, etc.)
2) Items from the "Early Days" (Pictures, correspondence, memorabilia, etc.)
3) Order of the Arrow Handbooks
4) National Bulletins
5) National Event Materials (Patches, Videos, memorabilia)
6) National Officer Items (Reports, patches, etc.)
Procedures
All items will be reviewed by the Subcommittee for History and Preservation and will only be placed to the site by the Digital Archivist. Each item must have accurate information and historical reference to be posted. The items that are placed on the site must have important significance to the National Organization and its programs.
